Radial Viewport — Privacy Policy

Radial Viewport is a free Chrome extension for responsive design testing. It runs entirely on your machine. There is no account and no server of ours that your browsing goes through. The only data it sends is anonymous feature-usage counts, described below, with a switch that turns them off. It is published by Radial LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company.
What data we collect
Anonymous usage statistics, and nothing else. When you use a feature, the extension records the event name (such as “a screenshot was taken”), the extension version, and a random install ID minted in your browser that identifies an installation, not a person. These events never include your browsing activity, the URLs or domains you load, page content, screenshots, comments, edits, or anything from the sites you preview. The complete list of events is published in the docs; if an event isn't listed there, the extension doesn't send it. Events are processed for us by PostHog, are used only to improve Viewport, and are never sold or shared for anyone else’s purposes.
To turn them off: click the gear in the Viewport toolbar → Anonymous usage stats → Off. Off means nothing is sent at all.
What the extension does
When you click the toolbar icon, the extension opens a tab containing a resizable frame and loads the page you were viewing (or a URL you type) inside it, so you can preview the site at different widths. All of this happens locally in your browser. The only network requests made are the ordinary requests your browser makes to load the website you choose to view, exactly as if you visited it in a normal tab, using your existing browser session.
Permissions and why they are needed
| Host access (all sites) | To load the website you choose into the preview frame, and to remove the X-Frame-Options / Content-Security-Policy framing headers only on the requests inside the extension's own viewport tabs, so sites that normally block framing can still be previewed. Other tabs are never affected. |

Storage
The extension does not store personal data on remote servers. Your preferences, comments, and edits are kept locally in your browser and never transmitted. The only values related to usage stats are the on/off switch and the random install ID, also stored locally.
Links to Radial
The extension shows a "From Radial" link to radial.to. It is an ordinary hyperlink; the extension does not track your browsing, and radial.to keeps only anonymous, cookieless page analytics. See the Radial privacy policy for how the website and app handle data.
Children
The extension is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
